That is all.

Earlier this week, I was walking home, accompanied by Liz and Maduro. And I just want to say, there's really no better example of a person's devotion to their dog than walking into a 2 foot high snow drift to retrieve its poo. Twice.
I mean, come on. That's love.

I finally went to the library and found a nice big section of books I want to read, but apparently you need two forms of identification and a proof of address just to get a frickin' library card. I mean, really. Who would go to a library just to steal old, dusty books that aren't worth more than $5 each, anyway? Bah. So I didn't get anything today, but I'll go back. And take my damn cable bill with me.
I bought a disposable camera yesterday so I can take pictures of where I live so people will stop bugging me about it. My digital stopped working, fyi. And I really want my next camera to be the Konica Minolta DiMage, as seen here. Hopefully my birthday present. So I'll have to make do without until May. I love shiny new things.
And my mom is coming to visit me! My dad bought her a plane ticket for her anniversary present. ^_^ She'll be here March 3rd. Yay! So so happy.

My boss just about gave me a heart attack tonight. We got an email from the author of a book we're publishing this month asking us to send a radio host a press packet. So I told them I'd take care of it. And I did. And then my boss emailed me back and asked that I forward a copy of what I'd sent to the radio guy. So I did. And he emailed me back again with this:
Are you kidding me? Below is what you sent? Seriously?
Um... Yeah. I emailed him back. And his reply:Sorry—I should probably follow that last one up quickly—THAT IS AWESOME. Well done. I thought that perhaps you may have just shot him the .pdf. This was excellent. Thanks again—well done.
Whew.
And on a completely different note, I asked my dad to buy me these and he said he would. Yay! No more wet shoes for me.

You know, when people tell you that you need rain boots in New York, they don't mean for rain. Noooo... they mean for snow.
I soaked my shoes twice on the way home. At least it wasn't on the way to work, or I would have had wet shoes all day.

The first two Huntingdon photo albums are working now, as well as family, london, and scotland.
I finally have my dresser all put together (and it rocks). I'm so very proud. It took 6 hours... but I did it.
And I went out and finally saw Times Square, so I'm not a completely pathetic excuse for a New Yorker. Paid $10.75 for a movie... missing those Alabama prices right about now. And Kristin, that movie is so definitely worth seeing, you'll love it!
Had a fit of the blues yesterday, but I think it's passed... Seems like it happens one day a week lately. It probably wouldn't if I would just stay productive, but as anyone who knows me knows... that's really frickin' hard. But I'm trying. I'm giving myself a weekend bedtime and wake-up time. Let's see if I can stick to it.

So, I finished day two of my internship. I spent both days updating, formatting, and generally cleaning up the press list for the book they're launching this month. Which basically is a spreadsheet listing hundreds of media contacts; their addresses, phone numbers, emails, etc. Much fun. Not really. But it was something to do. And I've gotten to read a couple of manuscripts, which IS fun.
I finally called the temp agency today, and Ellen was very nice. I have an appointment with her on Friday, so here's hoping I'll have some paying work next week.
After work today, I went to Ellie's neighborhood and wandered for a little while until 5. I found a used book store and bought a copy of Dante's The Divine Comedy, which is one of those titles I put on my list of things an English major should have read and didn't. And then I met up with Ellie and we went to the yarn store.... whee. And then to her apartment for a bit and then went out for dessert at the Cafe Mozart. And as Ellie said, you know a place is going to be good when they have a stand-alone menu for dessert. And then she showed me the biggest Barnes & Noble I've ever seen, and I very much wanted to live there. But Ellie thought they might not like that.
And then I came home and that was my day.
