Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a good day. We did our usual Christmas morning thing, and then I went back to bed and slept all day, and then we had our dinner. Much fun. ^_^

My poor baby is defective. :( After a couple visits to the vet (and over $400) I found out she has a birth defect where her hip sockets are too shallow to hold her leg bones in place. So she probably missed a jump recently, fell back on her hind legs, and knocked something out. And she has arthritis in her knees. So... I have to give her arthritis medicine with her food everyday; it's a powder that you sprinkle over the food, but now she's not eating her food very much. So I don't know what I'm going to do. I'll have to call the vet back on Monday.

Now just for fun, I'm going to do this that I stole from Ellie.

  1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before? I flew 3000 miles by myself and visited London and Scotland with my best friend.
  2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I never make any.
  3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My friend Jessie. :)
  4. Did anyone close to you die? No.
  5. What countries did you visit? Scotland, England, and technically Germany. I think 12 hours in the airport should count.
  6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004? A sense of direction for my post-college life.
  7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? May 19, I suppose. My 21st birthday celebrated in St. Andrews, Scotland.
  8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Surviving this semester intact. It was the best Fall I've had in a long time, despite the loads of work.
  9. What was your biggest failure? Drifting from Robin. But we're working on that.
  10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Not that I remember. Aside from the usual cold.
  11. What was the best thing you bought? My plane tickets.
  12. Whose behavior merited celebration? All of my friends.
  13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? I'd rather not go into it.
  14. Where did most of your money go? A very great deal went to Scotland and the vet.
  15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Again, Scotland. And as strange as this sounds, moving back into the dorm.
  16. What song will always remind you of 2004? Every song from Cotton Patch Gospel. ;)
  17. Compared to this time last year, are you: i. happier or sadder? Happier. ii. thinner or fatter? I think a little thinner. iii. richer or poorer? Richer.
  18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Socializing.
  19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Sitting alone in my apartment.
  20. How will you be spending Christmas? At home, as always.
  21. Did you fall in love in 2004? No.
  22. How many one-night stands? None.
  23. What was your favorite TV program? Dead Like Me.
  24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I don't hate anyone.
  25. What was the best book you read? For the sake of answering, The DaVinci Code. But I really can't remember what all I read.
  26. What was your greatest musical discovery? Metisse.
  27. What did you want and get? I really don't keep track.
  28. What was your favorite film of this year? Heh... Mean Girls. "Stab Caesar!" And Love, Actually.
  29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? For my 21st birthday, Ellie took me to a pub in St. Andrews with her friends.
  30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Having a relationship.
  31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004? I don't know.
  32. What kept you sane? My friends, always. This past semester, Amanda.
  33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Jude Law.
  34. What political issue stirred you the most? Women's rights.
  35. Who did you miss? During my 12 hour layover in Germany... EVERYBODY. More recently, Ellie. And Robin.
  36. Who was the best new person you met? Just one?! Please. Stupid boys #1 and #2, Jason, and the ever-lovely Kristin. ^_^
  37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: Don't take other people too seriously.
  38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: The trick is to keep breathing. (Garbage)

There are few things better in life than Christmas vacation. It defies description, really. I've reached the conclusion that if left to my own devices, I would naturally be nocturnal. It's like I just can't seem to help staying up all night doing absolutely nothing, and then sleeping until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. It's awesome.

My mom took me Christmas shopping this evening, and I found a lot of stuff, so that makes me happy. And it was all in one store and all on sale, so that's even better. And I was able to find my dad a couple of presents at William-Sonoma. I feel very accomplished.

I have an appointment with my therapist tomorrow, which is fortunate because I have quite a bit to talk about. I managed to get a little behind in payments because I forgot to mention my last two appointments to my mom... So she wrote me a check for tomorrow that covers two appointments, but I think there's one more. If there is, I'm just going to pay for it myself 'cause I feel bad that mom has to pay for all this. I know $70 per appointment is a lot for her to cover. Especially if I go every three weeks sometimes, instead of the usual four. But this time of year always seems to be more difficult for me... Although... This year it's difficult for entirely different reasons, so I guess that's a slight improvement. Go me.
