Did everybody else know that cereal goes stale in a couple weeks or less? Is it just me who was out of the cereal loop? I tried to have some Frosted Flakes this morning and they just didn't taste right. So, I asked the all-knowing Ellie, and she said cereal goes pretty fast... Somehow I thought it would be okay even having been open for a month. Or... more. I don't really know. So phooey.

And double, double BOOOOOO goes to my garbage disposal. I take the bowl into the kitchen, dump the cereal in, flip the switch, and.... nothing. AGAIN. This is the second time my disposal has stopped working. I'm very annoyed. Esecially since I have wet cereal sitting in my sink. GRRR.

Yay for payday. That's always a nice thing. Another nice thing is finding out that the summer class you need is being offered after all! WAHOO! Okay, yes, it means I have to get up and go to class at 7:30 am for a month... But at least that's one less class I have to take in my final semester, and summer classes are always easier. So, what the hell. It'll give me a good reason to get up and dressed every morning. Which is something I desperately need...

Western Civ 102, here I come! The only way this could possibly be better is to find out it's being taught by Dr. Whitley. *crosses fingers and hopes really hard*

This week's drinking night was much fun. I didn't really have anything, and Robin only had one, but Trey and Michael had about 5 or 6 shots each. The conversation was veeeerrrrry amusing. ^_^

I've actually gone to work four days this week, I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm getting back on a normal schedule, which is good. Although, I'm still having trouble falling asleep at night. But that should get better the longer I do it... As long as I keep getting up in the morning. We'll see.

John has a new job playing at a coffeehouse every Friday night. Yay! We have a new place to go and hang out every week. ^_^ And they pay him more than Moe's did, so screw Moe's. Well... the management, anyway. The food is good. ^_^

I suddenly have so much to do! And not enough time to do it in. I shouldn't have complained about being bored. :P Oh well.

Well, off to finish getting ready. Happy thoughts!

I went out with Robin and John tonight (or is that Robinandjohn? Heheh...) to see Oklahoma at Faulkner. I've never seen it before. It might be the single most hokey play I've ever experienced. Most of the songs made me think, "Please, God, make it stop." I'm so not kidding. And it seemed to take forever to get to intermission. But when it finally did, we decided to just leave early and go get something to eat since we hadn't had time to before. Usually, Faulkner plays are dinner theater, but they always have one show without the dinner that's only $2; in this case, I think it was a final dress rehearsal. But anyway, I ran several yellow/red lights, causing much shrieking of my two passengers, and went to O'Charley's for yummy food. And there was much rejoicing.

I also worked a little today and did my laundry, so I feel I've been sufficiently productive. Go me.

Poor Mommy. She was supposed to come home today, and I was looking forward to seeing her. She went to visit her sister in Florida again and to go to my cousin's wedding shower. But apparently she's come down with the flu. :( So it'll be a few more days. Now dad has to figure out how to do his own laundry. Heh.

I have no words. Every time CNN runs a story on a new hostage, there's no longer any doubt in my mind that he's going to die. It doesn't surprise me when it happens. It just makes me more proud of the people who stay there knowing they could be next.

I actually did stuff today. Go me! I stayed up till 5 am, slept until 9:30, and then got up and got dressed and waited for Charlie to call me. He decided to drive in for Father's Day, and he said he'd call when he got here and we'd go to breakfast with dad, since mom is out of town. But he didn't call... So I called him, and dad had apparently just finished one of his huge breakfasts right before he got there, so... I went over anyway, and then we went out to the Fresh Market so dad could do some grocery shopping. That is one niiiice place. I especially like that I could buy chocolate-chip muffins. ^_^ Then we took that stuff home and went out to lunch at a Chinese buffet. Then I came back to the apartment to kill time until dinner, which will be soon.

I also called Robin to make sure when she was coming back; fortunately, it's tonight, so yay. ^_^ I missed my Robin! It's boring here without her. When I called, though, she thought I was her sister, and that was funny. "Hey, where are you?" "At Aunt Linda's." "I didn't know you had an Aunt Linda." "Of course we... Oh!" Heh.

I have so much stuff I could be doing, but I just can't. I don't want to be productive. Well... too productive. I'd much rather sleep and play solitaire and shisen-sho and civ 3 and watch bad movies on tv... And work. 'Cause I get paid $10/hr now. Yay!

Okay, time to go find something else. Happy thoughts! ;)

I keep watching crappy movies on tv for lack of anything better to do. Last night, there was this mid-90s, made for tv movie on WE that I actually watched all the way through... Can there be a worse combination of factors? Eesh. And tonight, I watched most of Urban Legend on SciFi. I really hate watching a horror flick on tv. They inevitably cut out most of the dead body shots, and then you can't tell who the hell got killed! It's annoying. And Rebecca Gayheart was damn creepy. I much prefer Betty. ^_^

Okay... on to find something else to do...

Damn, that was hard to set up. But comments should be working now. ^_^

And I updated the about page with my current reading. I know everyone is just dying to know what I'm reading now...

Hey, look at that. I finally got to looking around the updated blogger and found they've finally integrated comments into their publishing system. Yay! I can have comments now! Of course, it's probably better for my self-esteem to not have comments, 'cause then I can imagine that people would comment if only I had comments... But now that I have comments, and people still don't comment, well, I might just feel bad. Oh well.

That's just me being paranoid again.

It pisses me off that articles like this and this get "top story" billing right next to this one. Where are CNN's damn priorities?

I meant to update about the end of my trip once I got back and recovered from the jet lag, but obviously, I never got around to it. Suffice it to say that it was a long trip and Frankfurt airport is faaaaaar too... shut down? After 9:00 pm for an international airport. Add that to no vending machines and smoking allowed in practically every area, not so great a 13-hour layover. But I made it. And I'm glad to be home.

Since being back, I've done a lot of sleeping, and while it may not seem possible, cut back my work days. I've only been going in Tuesday/Thursday lately; we'll see how that goes. My wonderful friends surprised me with a birthday party the day after I got back, which was much fun (since even my brother attended, yay). Melanie organized a great party for me (thank you!) with yummy chocolate cake. Then we went out to O'Charley's for dinner where there was more cake, and then a few days later, my grandmother brought my traditional birthday cake. So there was lots of cake. And much rejoicing.

I got my final grades back for the semester; 4 A's and 2 B's. Made the Dean's List, wahoo! All my finals and final papers were A's. ^_^ I now have a list of reading to do over the summer (Shakespeare's comedies) and I will try to work on finding some more research material on Milton, to add to my feminist criticism, which will become my capstone. And I'm putting together a website for Robin and John's engagement, to keep people updated over the next couple of years... ^_^ So I have a lot I can do, if I can just make myself do it.

On recent movies... I watched 13 Going on 30, which was wonderful and makes me love Jennifer Garner even more, Bulletproof Monk, which might have been a good story aside from back writing and/or directing, and Say It Isn't So, which might be the most awful thing I have ever made myself sit through. I've also bought the 1st season of Buffy on dvd because I found it on sale for $20, and my copy of the 1st season of Dead Like Me should be arriving any day now. YAY!

Finally... Robin, Trey, and I have formed a Thursday night drinking club to make sure we get together every week to catch up and relax, and I think I'm going to suggest turning it into a movie/drinking night, which will take up more time and be probably less expensive than going out for drinks and dessert every week. We'll see.

Now, since I've rambled on enough, and I didn't sleep last night because of my nocturnal habits, I'm going to go get ready for bed and force myself back into a normal sleeping schedule.

Happy thoughts!
