I killed a squirrel this afternoon. I'm very sad. :(

Why is it that everyone must be screwed for watching tv every time there's a major awards show on? I'd be willing to bet that there are millions of people in this country not watching the Oscars tonight and wondering why the hell no one has the guts to show something decent on another channel. I might consider watching the Oscars if there were no (or much fewer) commercials and it didn't get longer every single freakin' year. What are we at now? Five hours? Six? Ten? Come on!

I'm trying to encourage myself to get up and clean up my apartment. I can't tell if it's working yet. But I've been at the computer for at least half an hour now... No, that can't be right. An hour, maybe. So I'd guess it's not going so well. Time will tell.

Listening to: You Are My Sunshine by Norman Blake.

Oh, and I finally updated the about section with what I'm actually reading at the moment.

Go me.

I survived, yay! One question, though. What's a former debutante called? What happens to you after the coming out stuff?

My router/firewall stopped working. So I'm connecting straight from the modem to the computer for the next little while, but shhhh.... don't tell dad... He's very paranoid. He thinks I'll get a virus or a worm or something if I'm unprotected for five seconds.

I briefly considered giving up carbonated beverages for Lent this morning. Then I decided I would never make it and it's a stupid idea. Nice thought, though.

Never mind, I've now been saved. So it's only a semi-crappy week. Yay!

What did I do to deserve this almost all-around crappy week?

Now there's low-carb orange juice?! Come on, people!

I'll be so glad when this stupid Atkins craze is over.

Ohhh, dear God, this has been a long day. My feet hurt so much. But we had an awesome time, even if it was freezing and windy. And it turned out wonderfully; but I can't say what we did on the off-chance that a certain someone is reading this, sooo...

The closer I get to the 21st, the more I dread it. Wahoo.

Also, I've decided that fitting rooms are instruments of the devil. Be warned.

After watching my cat sit and stare at the trash can for several hours, I finally decided she must be stalking something. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to know, but I decided I did. So I went over and picked up the trash can, and as expected, there was a roach under it. I replaced the trash can before it moved, so I'm not entirely sure if it's alive or not. I believe I will ask my mom to pick up some bug killer spray at the grocery store tomorrow. Then those damn roaches better stay away if they know what's good for them.

Of course, that still leaves the problem of disposal. I can't bring myself to pick them up. I may have to go get my trusty plastic cup out of the kitchen again.

CRS is completely kicking my ass. I don't know what to do with it, since I have to have it for core, and the alternatives aren't exactly better. Just different. Sigh.

Local car commercials have reached a new low. "I even came back to buy my second van when I needed... a second... van. Yeah." Morons.

There was one more thing, but I can't remember... Oh, right. I think my slippers are starting to smell. It might be time to buy some new ones... Or wash them. Hmm.

Aaaaand, back to SVU.

Oh! And happy Candlemas to those who celebrate it. For some reason, it's one of the few holidays I always remember. Strange.

I'm such a dork. I wrote myself little notes in my planner today to remind myself of some things I wanted to blog about. For instance, in American history this morning, Dr. Whitley used the term Victorian America. Is it just me or is that... well, maybe not an oxymoron, but close? After that class, on my way to 18th century literature, I saw Dr. Gray. She was wearing hair extensions. You know, the long, skinny, braided kind. It was freaky. And then during that class, we were talking some about Locke and his philosphy, and someone said that Locke was like the LAS of his time. Which struck me as kind of funny... But maybe that's just me.

I had to go to the dentist this afternoon, yay. I don't mind it so much; it just takes about a half an hour, and it doesn't really hurt or anything... But what kills me is how they always complain about your gums and how they're all red and tender and inflamed, and I'm thinking, "Well, what do you expect when you go around poking 'em with a sharp metal object?!" Come on! *cough* Anyway. They also said I have to get my wisdom teeth out. :( *whimper* So I'll probably do that this summer. Yay, something to look forward to.

And now, since I didn't get but two and a half hours of sleep last night, after sleeping the weekend-days completely away, I'm going to go to bed and get my clock back on schedule.

Happy thoughts!
