Because I don't feel like thinking coherently long enough to write about my last few days, here's a conversation I had with my brother last night.

Cath 51983: I just spent five minutes catching a roach. NYEE! (SHUDDER)
    am0rphizm: yay
    am0rphizm: glad you got him
    Cath 51983: IHATETHEMIHATETHEMIHATETHEM
Cath 51983: I hate squashing them 'cause guts get everywhere, and I don't have any spray... So I got two plastic disposable cups and set one down in front of him, waited for him to crawl in, and then trapped him. And flushed him down the toilet.
    am0rphizm: loser
    Cath 51983: They're ICKY!
Cath 51983: Ok. Now really going to bed.
    am0rphizm: night

Tonight was great. I went out to San Marcos with Robin and John (who is recovering from his appendectomy), and that was much fun. At one point I was on my knees on the floor, leaning under the table and trying to put a napkin under one of the table legs to keep the table from wobbling, and of course, that's when our food came. So the waiter was like, "What are you doing?" It was funny. And my dinner cost less than $3. You just can't beat that.

After that, we drove over to Eastdale Mall and browsed for a while. The new Montgomery Biscuits store is there, that was rather amusing. And I found the weirdest thing in there. A 1953 Meta Gibbens cookbook was on one of the tables, for $10. My dad is always talking about how he loves this one cookbook by Meta Gibbens, that his mom gave him when he got his first apartment, so I called and told him about it. His copy's actually even older, at 1948. But I thought it was interesting. And definitely a random thing to have in a baseball team's gift store, even if the team is named the Biscuits.

Then we went and bought some Krispy Kreme, since the Hot sign was on. Very yummy. The only thing better than a $3 dinner is Krispy Kreme.

And last, we went back to John's house and sat and talked for a while, and Jack came over for a bit. That discussion was very interesting. Theological and such. Speaking of, in case you haven't noticed on my about page, I changed my religion from "pagan" to "undecided." I've been thinking about it lately, and I'm really no more involved in paganism than I ever was with Christianity. The problem is, I just don't feel comfortable with any kind of organized religion, whether there's a church or not. I just feel what I feel, and that's that. So if I had to describe it, I'd say was simply spiritual and leave it at that.

Tonight, I'll leave you with a quote that I very much like.

You know what your problem is? You wake up every morning and wonder what the world's gonna do for you, wondering who's gonna bend over backwards, kiss your ass, and make you happy, when you should just thank God for another day and leave it the fuck at that.

Ellie and I went and saw Matchstick Men tonight. Very good movie! And Alison Lohman is now my favorite actress EVER. Currently alive, anyway. But she's awesome.

My kitten needs declawing. Desperately. Or rather, I need my kitten declawed desperately. Those suckers hurt.

Yeesh. To quote a good movie, "What's with today, today?" First John's appendix bursts and he has to go to the hospital, and now I find out Melanie went to the doctor this afternoon and found out she has a kidney infection. Wahoo. I'm glad I've never had anything bad like that happen to me. In fact, the worst thing, health-wise, that's ever happened to me is the flu.

I hope I didn't just jinx myself. Anyway. Off to study a map of England for my test tomorrow. Much fun.

Once again, I've gone way too long without posting. But to sum up, I've been going to class and working, and then either sleeping away the weekends or keeping busy the whole time. Or a combination of both. :) But I guess I'll try and get back into this.

I went and voted today, but of course, the amendment was rejected. Big surprise. I'm not even going to comment. I'm sure Charlie will be taking care of that. (Edit: Nope, apparently not.)

Work is going well, I'm kind of enjoying it now. At least, I'm enjoying it when we have customers. When we don't, and there's nothing else to do, it can be a little tedious. But business has been picking up and it will only increase as we get closer to Christmas. I'm going in early tomorrow, right after my class gets out at 10, so at least I'll be able to pick up a few extra hours before my next paycheck. That's always a plus.

I think I'm starting to adjust to the apartment. I do really like it, but it was difficult being alone so much of the time at first. But I got myself a kitten, so it's looking up. :) I had kind of a bad night on Sunday, but that was probably because I slept all day and then watched a depressing movie, sooo.... I finally have a new appointment with Dr. Collier for next week. I cancelled my last one three weeks ago because it happened to fall on my first day of work and I would have had to take time off to go, which I didn't feel comfortable doing. I think she's fitting me into her schedule, which I really appreciate, 'cause I think I definitely need to see her and just talk. I believe she schedules her latest appointment at 4, so she can leave at five, but she's seeing me at 5 next Tuesday. So. That's nice. :)

Ok. Now for homework.
