Well, the last two days have been a little better. Much less stocking, more customers. It's still slow, but I'm sure it will pick up soon. I also started learning how to make pretty little bows out of ribbon. Whoohoo!

And the other job I was interested in turns out to be where? In Illinois. Yeah. 'Cause that's a great idea. Do they really think, at this point of the semester, that anyone is going to see those listings and think, "Hey, what a great idea! Why don't I drop out of school for the semester after I've already paid for all my classes and move to Illinois for a part time job!" Come on! The whole point of part-time jobs is to make money while going to school. And when the two are in separate states, that makes it a little difficult. I don't know what the school was thinking posting those. Freakin' morons.

So anyway. I'm going to Tuscaloosa tomorrow to see Charlie. And I have to remember to stop at home and get cable, bolt cutters, and the ceramic elephant. That's a really weird combination. Or maybe it's just the elephant.

And then Monday, classes start, and I start working a slightly lesser schedule. MWF, 11:30-3:30. Tentatively. Which is fine by me. Now I'm going to try and head for bed. Within the next two hours.

Yeah.

ARGH. I'm so mad. I finally found a job last week and started Monday. It's really wearing me out because all I've been doing so far is stocking and re-organizing, which keeps me on my feet all the time. And it's retail. Something about retail just doesn't feel right, but I can't put my finger on it. It's like, if I'm not filing, I feel weird. Which is sad, but whatever. So anyway, I'm already having doubts about this job but I've convinced myself to keep trying for a while, and see if I like it better once I'm actually not spending all my time in the stock room. But I decided to check the school website for new job listings anyway, just in case. And of course the one I've been looking for all along was finally there.

Oy. So very, very sore. And damn my bathroom is cold.

On the up side, my new bed is amazing. Ahh, sleep.

After a very, very long day, I'm finally moved into my apartment. In fact, I'm almost completely unpacked already, which surprises me. But thanks to Ellie, the queen of unpacking and organization, and Melanie, who really only wanted empty boxes she could use for her move (^_^), it's all done. Except, I believe, for the kitchen stuff, and there isn't that much of it. Just the plates really. And then figuring out which cabinets to put stuff in.

I'm already feeling very happy and at home here. I will miss "home" but it's time I had to live by myself. And this is a damn good place to try it. ;)

In the midst of moving, I finally got a call from one of the places I applied to a couple months ago, Gloria's, a jewelry store near here. From the sound of it, I pretty much have the job, but I have to go by to solidify my schedule and work out salary. So WAHOO!

So. All I have to do tomorrow is stop by Gloria's and go grocery shopping with my mom so that I won't starve to death here. Ooh, I almost forgot... I have to go by the school to do a few things too. Like drop off my tutoring application and buy a meal plan. And buy books. Maybe. We'll see.

And now, it's time for bed, dammit. I've been up for I don't know how long, but whatever it is, it's long enough.

Moving day is finally here! Yay! I've been packing all night. Off and on. I really haven't done much. Except clean out the two nightstands I'm taking with me and putting all my clothes in large grocery bags to take with me. Just the ones in my dresser. The clothes in the closet I'm just gonna toss in the back of my car. Other than that.... I haven't done much. There's very little to actually pack right now. There's some stuff in the store room that I have to get, but that has to wait till morning. Sooo... I tried to go to bed around three, but no luck. I laid around for about an hour and a half before I gave up and started doing crossword puzzles. Now I just have to wait for it to get light out so I can get stuff out of the store room and put some laundry in. It sucks having your washer outside.

On a different note... Charlie came home this morning and slept most of the day. And he went back to bed between 2 and 3 this morning, not long before I did. And the weirdest thing happened. Kitty stayed with me. And he's still here, sleeping on my bed, even now that I'm up. It's weird. Nice, though. Heh. Maybe Charlie abandoned him one too many times. ;)

Well. Back to crosswords.

I believe the world must be coming to an end. My dad, this afternoon, out of the blue, decided to buy me a bed. A nice white metal daybed + new mattress that will be delivered to my apartment on Tuesday morning. And then, as if that weren't enough, I just installed some Windows XP updates that did not require that I restart the computer.

The world has gone mad. Mad, I tell you!

Yay! Dustin came and got Peaches, so now I don't have to go over there every day. I don't usually go every day when Mel asks me to take care of her, because in my opinion, she should be able to survive a day or two without human contact, assuming she has food and water and a litter box. So I try to make her a little bit more independent when I have to look after her. But this time... Well, I decided Peaches was eating waaaay too much. Like I filled her bowl up and came back to check the next day, and that sucker was almost empty. That's not supposed to happen. Kitty only eats a bowl every two days or so. And Peaches has turned into a little fatty, anyway, so. I decided to put her on a diet. I refilled her bowl with 1 cup of food, gave her fresh water, cleaned her litter box, petted her a bit, and went home. I came back the next day, and I swear she tried to attack my foot when I went to check her food. Which isn't very smart of her, but anyway... So I gave her another cup-ful and went home. And now Dustin has her, and he says he's gonna try to follow that as well, 'cause he agrees she's gotten too fat.

Seriously, Peaches was tiny when we first got her, and now.... Well, it can't be healthy. I just don't think that a cat that started out so small is meant to get that big. Especially if it's just her stomach that's growing. So we'll see.

Brannon called me today, and I missed it! Grr. I keep forgetting to turn my phone off of silent when I wake up. I mean, really, with Melanie gone, no one really calls me anyway. But I'll try and do better....

Ooh! And Charlie finally found all those missing PSX games. Yay! I don't have to worry anymore.

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday, dear Brannon
Happy birthday to you!

I tried to call, but you weren't at the house, so I left a message. But here's another one, just in case. ^_^

Watched The Bone Collector tonight. Very good.

Then I went looking for Dead Like Me stuff online and downloaded all the music I could find from the few episodes that have aired so far. ^_^ Good stuff, I'm telling you. Yup.

I finally picked up Wicked from the living room, where it's been sitting for the last two months, and started reading it. And it sucked me right in. I read over a hundred pages the first night, and another 70 or so last night. I'm still confused on how they end up where they did, from where they are right now in the book, so I'm reading it as fast as I can to find out. Of course, once I finish it, I have nothing else to read.... Hm.

Well. Time for dinner.

P.S. Just watch me try and drink out of this bottle of nail polish remover that's right in front of me on my desk, out of habit. Just watch.

Maybe I should move it back to the bathroom now that I'm done with my nails. Yeah, that's a good idea.

Aaaggghhhh! Moving is hard!

I can't figure out when I'm actually moving. The person in my apartment is moving out on the 3rd, so I had estimated to move in on the 6th, because Charlie is leaving for Baltimore on the 7th. Today, I went by the apartment office to get something and asked when the soonest would be for me to move in, just to make sure, and they had me down for the 16th. So, we changed it to the 8th, and on my way home I remembered the 8th wouldn't work because Charlie would....? Yes, be in Baltimore! So, I called the poor lady back and changed it to the 11th. And if I have to change it again, I'm gonna scream! Yeesh.

I have to start packing, close my savings account at the bank, go by all the utilities places and open accounts, and take care of Peaches for the next week while Melanie's in Costa Rica on a mission trip, which means I have to go by Melanie's apartment every single day because Peaches isn't used to being alone, like Kitty is.

Add to that, mom's been in a pissy mood all day for reasons I have yet to determine, and now Heather is here, which is just one more thing to bring mom joy. (That was sarcasm.)

Ok. I'm ranted out now.

But I am going to see Bend It Like Beckham with Ellie at 4, so that's one good thing today. :)
