I don't usually enjoy our family dinners on Sunday. At the table, 99% of the time is spent talking about sports. Tonight was no different. Joy. And then it degenerated into arguing over how to get to Lenox Mall in Atlanta, and then the best route to get to Uncle Frank's in Massachusetts. He overnight mailed a map and directions to Grandma, and dad took one look and said, "Noooo, that's definitely not the best way to get there." And around about that time, I escaped back here, as per usual.

Oh, please, can August 1st come any sooner?

My classes are in Flowers Hall, so every day, I go in and out through the front door and pass through the lobby. On my way out every day, I see this plaque on the wall listing people's names. I've never actually looked at it, so I'm not sure what it's for, but I would imagine they contributed to the building fund for the chapel. Anyway, it's greatly amusing to me every time I walk by, because the bottom name is Nimrod T. Frazer.

Seriously. Who would name their kid "Nimrod?"

I swear. Only in Alabama.

Oy. It's really bad when you're too lazy to sit down and type an entry. I have a lot to catch up on.

I decided on an apartment, and I filled out the application and gave them my deposit, so all that's left is signing the lease. I'll be moving in around August 1, so I have until then to find furniture. I've been scouring the classifieds and the Bulletin Board for stuff, and I did manage to find a dining table and a desk. Charlie and I are going to pick those up sometime before the end of this week. So that leaves living room furniture and a bed that I still need. But I still have time, so I guess it's okay.

My classes are over after next Thursday. I assume both finals will be on the same day, which sucks, because so far she's been careful to stagger them so that those of us in both classes don't have to study for two at the same time. Ick. I've been making A's on everything till now, though, so that's a good sign. I think we're missing a lot of information in this condensed summer version, which is unfortunate, but at least I'm getting the credit I need.

Charlie and Grandma are leaving early next week to drive up to Ohio for the family reunion, and then they're going up to Boston to see her brother Frank. I do kinda wish I could go with them to Boston, but my finals won't be over until after they're long gone. And the day after they leave, mom and dad are leaving to drive up to the reunion, too, but they're coming back right after and not going to Boston. In any case, I pretty much have the house to myself all next week. Yay. ^_^

I still haven't found a job, dammit. Sigh. I need money!

I guess that's everything. Now back to time-wasting games.

Post-script: Well, damn Blogger is down, so now I can't post this till later. Bastards.

I'm not a very happy person right now. Nope. Not so much.

It looks like my living arrangements will be changing once again. I was planning on moving in with Melanie in August, but now her dad is buying her a trailer. My parents refuse to let me live in a trailer. So... Mom and I are going out to look at some apartments tomorrow after class. I can't decide whether to be excited or not.

I'm still caught up on my notecards for class, I'm pretty impressed with myself. :) I still haven't bought the books yet. I do need to at least go and buy the workbook for Western Civ, though. But I think the bookstore is still closed because of the renovations going on in that building... I'll have to check tomorrow while I'm there. And I'm supposed to go by the financial office and find out why we haven't gotten our financial statement for next year yet. We usually make our first payment by June 15, and we still don't have anything from them.

Charlie has finally decided on an apartment, too, in Tuscaloosa, and also that he's going to have a roommate. That's probably a good idea. He'll have someone else to keep him company besides kitty. :) And having a roommate will bring the rent back down to about what he's paying now, but the new apartment is apparently much nicer. So that's good.

Well... I probably need to be getting to bed now. I have to be up for class in about 7 hours. Ergh....

I was able to get up this morning on time, at 6. I kind of surprised myself. I made it to class on time and everything. It's kind of funny, there were five other people in the class, and all of them were from Montgomery and went to high school here. And I adore Dr. Whitley, she's great. So this should be kinda fun. :) Now I'm on my break between classes; my next one is at 11, with the same teacher. Yay!

I also talked to dad about textbooks and general money problems. I proposed that he go ahead and give me the money I need for books, and then I'll figure out whether I need them or not; if I don't, I could just keep the money. :) I didn't think he'd go for it, but he made a good counter-proposal. He said he'd go ahead and increase my allowance this month instead of in August, when I move in with Melanie, so that I'll have enough money to buy furniture in the meantime. Sooo... Yay. :)

As for the books... Ugh. I can buy them used, and I checked out the prices last week. But guess what I found out this morning. Both books, the ones for American History and Western Civ, are in transition. Meaning there will be a new edition out in the fall. Which also means that if I buy those books to use this month, I won't be able to use them should I decide to take the second half of those classes in the fall or later, and and I won't be able to sell them back after this month. And I say, screw that. I'll try to get along without books for as long as I can. She supposedly gives tests off her notes instead of the book anyway, so hopefully that will work out.

Errgh. I hate textbooks.
