Something's gotta be wrong with me. For the last week or so, everytime I eat something, no matter how much or how little, I end up feeling sick to my stomach, and I have no idea why. It can't just be the dining hall food, 'cause I have eaten at other places. But God it's annoying! And it hurts. And I wish it would go away. I had to miss my drawing class this afternoon because of it, and now I feel guilty... Bleh.

I would also just like to add that my LAS teacher is a freakin' psycho. He won't let us use pronouns in our papers. I mean, come on! Pronouns?! I write "men and women... blah blah" in one sentence, then combine that into "they" in the next sentence, and he takes off points. What the hell is that? Gah. I can't stand that guy.

Now I'm going to get ready for bed, watch tv, go to sleep, and hope for a better day tomorrow. And pray the weekend comes soon. ^_^

So I'm changing my major. As it turns out, all but about three courses I have to take to get a digital art degree here are fine art and not digital. And tell me, what do ceramics and painting have to do with web design? Absolutely nothing. At least, that's how I feel about it, and I'm not going to screw around with it anymore. These aren't classes I enjoy, and I see no reason to continue taking them if they aren't going to help me anyway. So I've decided to change my major to English and get teacher certification. I always liked the idea of being a teacher, and I like English, so... There ya go. ^_^ It's been a huge load off this past week. Especially since this means I can drop one of my art classes now; and which is to be the one to go? 3-D Design. Buh-bye!

So I just have to get Tubach to sign the drop slip, and then I can take both forms to the registrar and get things going. Then when I start again next fall, I can take some courses I actually like. ^_^

In other news, the whole damn campus is getting sick. Laurel had the flu all last week, and around Thursday or Friday, Melanie started getting it, too, because she'd been nursing her two sick friends downstairs. Crystal at the end of the hall was sick, and Krissy at the other end might have mono. Rebecca's been randomly spraying down the room with Lysol every now and then, trying to kill all the germs. ^_^ I seem to have made it through okay; I hardly ever get sick. God knows why, since I'm sure my nutrition absolutely sucks. My whole life, I've only been sick four times, not counting colds. I've had the chicken pox, pink eye, strep throat, and the flu. But that's it. And the flu, which was the most recent, was maybe four or five years ago. The only thing I seem to have picked up since last week is a tiny cough; it's not even bad enough to be annoying.

And I was a very bad person today... Since I didn't have any classes but my 10:00, I ended up sleeping from about 12:30 to 5. Yeek. I'm never getting to sleep tonight, that's for damn sure.

Time for this or that Tuesday once again:

  1. Picnic on the beach or in a park? In a park.
  2. Atlantic Ocean or Pacific? Atlantic.
  3. Museum or the ballet? Erm.. Ballet. I think.
  4. Lots of pillows on the bed, or just a few? I generally have two regular pillows and a few throws on my bed.
  5. Homebody or not? Definitely a homebody. ^_^
  6. Introverted or extroverted? Introverted.
  7. Sunrise or sunset? Sunset. I like to sleep through my sunrises, thank you. But the times I have been up around sunrise, I haven't been able to see it anyway because of all the trees around my house.
  8. Ceiling fans or light fixtures? Light fixtures.
  9. Lions or tigers or bears? Tigers. Duh.
  10. The Beatles or the Monkees? I like both.. But I'll go with the Beatles.

That's all for today, I think. Busy day. Very tired. Still got more to do this week.

I just got back from dinner at Tomatino's with Brannon, Becca, Robin, Leeann, and Jessica. We used the big table in back, sat around talking, and came up with support for our theory that the restaurant is owned by the Mafia. And then all six of us squeezed into Leeann's car (affectionately known as Betsy), drove the mile back to campus, and we sang We're Off To See The Wizard as we climbed up the stairs. And there was much rejoicing.

And now it's time to go get ready for ASF tonight. We're going to see The Tempest, which I've never seen. But since it's a comedy and has a happy ending, I'm pretty sure I'll like it.

This weekend, I need to do my texture project for 3D design, draw a negative space still-life for, you guessed it, drawing class. And I think that might be all. Yay!

Have a great weekend!

Brannon and I helped Robin study for Spanish last night. I had a list of vocab and verbs to read out to her, and she'd tell me what they meant in English. She had a terrible time remembering a lot of them, so Brannon and I kept coming up with weird associations to go with them. For example:

la escala -> Oscar -> scales -> layover. Because scales lay over each other.
el vuelta -> wealthy -> return trip. Because if you're rich, you can afford the plane ticket back.
seguir -> segments -> to follow. Because segments follow each other.
sentirse -> tear -> emotion -> to feel. If you don't get that one, you need help.

I think those are the best ones... I think I learned more Spanish last night than in the whole rest of my life. Too bad I took French in high school.

And now, the this or that Tuesday (from shawn):

  1. Coke or pepsi? Coke, all the way. I can drink pepsi if I happen to be in a place that serves only pepsi, but if I have a choice, always coke. Can't live without my Dr. Pepper. ^_^
  2. Mcdonald's or kentucky fried chicken? McDonalds! I love their grilled chicken sandwich, I get it every time.
  3. Pizza or subs? I think I'd go with pizza, although I do eat subs.
  4. Nintendo or playstation? Old nintendo (the original and the snes) and the playstation. I can't stand the N64. Ugh. But most of my favorite games (wait, I think that's all) graduated from Nes to Snes to Playstation. So I just keep going with the flow. ^_^
  5. One credit card or more? I'd prefer not to have any credit cards, but realistically, I'll probably get one eventually. But not until absolutely necessary. Till then, my debit card will tide me over.
  6. Photos of people or photos of nature? People!
  7. In the car, do you listen to the radio or cds/tapes? CDs! The radio stations here suck more than you would believe.
  8. Would you rather see a dentist or a doctor? Doctor. Duh.
  9. Did you watch the super bowl or not? Of course not. But I did watch the halftime show with my roomies. ^_^
  10. American or non-american made car? I like both.. I have an Oldsmobile Alero right now, and my first car was a jeep. But I also like VWs, among others.

Have you ever been outside and not known it was raining?

I stepped out of Bellingrath after art class to come back to the dorm, and I heard this soft rustling noise, like the sound of rain falling on dead leaves. So I thought, okay, it's raining. But as I walked, I started to wonder. It's really cold out, so I was wearing a big fleece jacket, and I couldn't feel any rain falling on me. And I couldn't see any rain falling, either on the sidewalk or in the air. So I thought, okay, never mind, it's not raining.

Well, to make a long, sad story short, yes, it was raining. Sprinkling, too light to see or feel through a jacket, but still raining nonetheless. Do you know how weird that feels, hearing the sound of rain but not being able to see or feel it?

Okay. Weird story for the day. I can go now.

YAY! It's not due until Tuesday. I have a night's reprieve. ^_^

Ugh. My weekend sucked, but at least I was able to salvage a part of it by going home last night (around 10) and spending a little time with my parents. At least when I'm alone in my own house I don't feel quite so badly as being alone in a dorm. But whatever. It was a nice break.

I finally got around to setting up my cordless keyboard and mouse (that I got for Christmas). It'll take a while to get used to the new keyboard, but it seems to be working out pretty well so far. Basically, I've been doing anything to keep from doing school stuff. There's an assignment due for one of my art classes, but since I don't know which one it is, I don't know whether it's due Monday or Tuesday..... I think it's for drawing, which means it's due Tuesday, but if I'm wrong, and it's for 3D design and it's due tomorrow, I'm kinda screwed. Although I did actually start it last week. Argh... I need to find out.

I got up at 9 Saturday morning and took my stupid essay over to Barfield's office. Then I came back and went back to sleep, which was nice. ^_^ I can't believe it's 10 pm Sunday night, though... The weekend went by way too fast, and now I have to start my shitty classes all over again. Damn. I just remembered I need an idea for my texture project in 3D for tomorrow. This just gets worse and worse....

And now to procrastinate some more. Wish me luck, I'll need it.

So we let Oscar go. We couldn't tell if he was actually eating or not, and we didn't want him to die. So Brannon and Robin took him outside this afternoon and let him go. He kept changing colors from green to brown and back again, but we weren't sure whether that was bad. Anyway, he's free now. ^_^

I overslept and missed my only class today, so technically I have a three-day weekend. ^_^ But I'll have to get up in the morning to take my LAS essay to the prof's office and slip it under the door. I forgot to do it today, and when I took it over at 7:30 tonight, the doors were already locked. Ugh. This place dies on the weekends. The dining hall closes at six on Friday and around 5:30 on Saturday and Sunday. And the student center (which is where my prof's office is) is only open for two hours Saturday afternoon and a few hours Sunday evening. It's impossible to eat on campus over the weekend. It's the most annoying thing about this school.

Ah well. I think we're all going to the Mardi Gras party tomorrow night; should be fun. And fortunately, I don't have a lot of work to do this weekend.

Everything's so quiet... Brannon's doing One-Acts, Becca went home after class this morning, Laurel's gone out somewhere, and Melanie just left for Auburn. It's weird, the silence. There's usually people coming in and out all the time. Oh well; it'll probably pick up again tomorrow.
