I got out of the house today! Yay for me! Ellie and I saw Kate & Leopold. I thought the previews looked a little cheesy, but the movie was actually very good. Very sweet. ^_^ Afterwards, we went over to the mall, and I used my two gift certificates to buy My Fair Lady (which I still haven't seen), Mallrats, and Jewel's new cd, This Way. I love the cd; it's really good.

My new ram came in today, so Charlie (being the nice brother that he is) installed it for me while I was out at the movie. And we just made a run out to Waffle House (thank God; I have a bad habit of forgetting dinner), so all is well. ^_^ Waffle House waffles are great. I just thought you should know.

And, to be productive, I made a new desktop wallpaper. Mostly because I was sick of all my old ones, but still... It counts. ^_^

Bah. I smell like smoke from Waffle House. I think I need a bath... In fact, that sounds like a great idea before bed. G'night!

Sorry for the recent lack of updates, but there hasn't been all that much going on. Mostly just me sleeping and occasionally eating. ^_^ That and a lot of video game playing... Heh.

Charlie and kitty have been home, and that's been very nice. I'm always up for kitty time. ^_^

As for Christmas... I got some really amazing stuff. I finally got a digital camera from my dad, and Charlie ended up buying me a webcam, so I think I'm set. ^_^ I also got a new cordless mouse and keyboard that I'll be taking back to school with me. I practically have a new wardrobe, too; three boxes of clothes that were mostly picked out by me a few months ago. Add those to the new things I already bought myself, and you've got a whole new me. ^_^ I also got a very pretty hardback copy of the The Hobbit and a hardback set of The Lord of the Rings. And a copy of all the Hitchhiker books in one volume.

I think that's all the major stuff that I got... Charlie, of course, got his new computer, which is pretty amazing. It was custom built, as usual, with a dvd-cdrom drive, 80 gb hard drive, and God knows how much ram... Speaking of which, I ordered some new ram for my computer which should come in tomorrow; 256 to replace my crappy 96. Anyway. Mom got a gift certificate for the BackRub Store at the mall (my idea; heh ^_^), dad is getting new fish for the aquarium (and a tribble I bought that hasn't come in yet ^_^), and Grandma got a whole bunch of books and a couple of puzzles. She'll be occupied for months. ^_^

I missed out on the new tradition of waking my parents up with music Christmas morning. I stayed up late, and finally decided there was no point in going to bed, but then I got bored out of my mind around 4 in the morning, and decided to take a nap. Well, then I was too wired to sleep, so I ended up singing 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall in my head to make me fall asleep... Strangely enough, it worked; I only remember getting to about 67 or so. Anyway, I had set my alarm for 6:30 so I could wake my parents up at 6:45, but I didn't hear the music until 10 after 7... And by then, they were up already! Sheesh. They couldn't stay in bed just a little bit longer..

So it's been a great Christmas this year, general-vacationally speaking and literal Christmas Day-speaking, too. ^_^ Hope you have a great Christmas!

Oh! I forgot to mention that I got my research paper back this week, and I made an A. God, I loved that class. ^_^

Argh. I forgot to forward myself the address I'm sending the check to for that e-bay purchase I mentioned earlier, so now I have to wait for her to send it again, which means it might have to wait until Monday... Bah. She probably thinks I'm a total spaz by now. Oh well.

In any case, I'm home now, and all is well. Happy Holidays to everyone! ^_^

Finals are over. I get to go home. ^_^ I turned in my digital art final this morning. It wasn't great, but it'll do. I don't much care, since I have a B in the class, anyway.

I got my art portfolio back yesterday, and I made a B on my final. Hopefully, that'll keep my final grade up. Here's hoping. ^_^

Charlie and kitty are coming home tomorrow, and Ellie will be home next week. I have almost all my Christmas shopping done, and I have a whole month off for Christmas. Things are definitely looking up. ^_^

The only bad thing is that my section at Moondance is running way behind because my copyeditor is MIA. So I still don't have copy, and I'm supposed to have it coded and up for review, umm... tomorrow. But it's not my fault, so I'm not going to worry about it. I can code it all in about an hour, do touch-ups in another, and it'll be finished. So it's not that big a deal, but it's still a little irritating. This is the second issue in a row that my copyeditor has been busy. The first time, I knew about it in advance so I could do it myself, but this time, we didn't know she was gone until about two or three days ago. Ack. Oh well.

Now if I can just get my checkbook balanced when I get home and remember to send off a check for my last e-bay purchase tomorrow, I'll have no worries. At least for a little while. ^_^

I had so much fun this morning. A bunch of us went to volunteer at the humane shelter, and we ended up washing every adult dog there! And I got to play with all the nice kitties, too. ^_^ And then we came straight back to the dorm to shower because there just isn't any smell quite like that of a wet dog. We're trying to figure out what to do tonight. Probably go out to dinner and a movie, or something simple. Should be fun. ^_^ And I stopped by my house last night with the girls to pick up something, and I got to see my parents and Charlie! Yay! It's always good to see my brother. Heehee. Can't wait for Christmas vacation; we'll have weeks together! ^_^

And now time to finish getting cleaned up. Buh-bye!

Argh. My research paper is finally done. I think it's a load of crap that doesn't really make sense, but it's done. And I'm turning it in at 11:00 am. Now I just need sleep................

Bah.

I actually tried out for a play last night. You should be proud of me. ^_^ I might have gotten cast if there had been more parts, 'cause they did say I was good, but oh well. My friend Brannon got the part of Sorel, which was the one I tried out for. Poor Robin didn't get anything. :( I feel bad for her.... But anyway, I'll probably volunteer to do tech stuff, which is still fun. ^_^

I came home last night around 10 so I'd have a quiet place to work for a day or two. I need to get my research paper written, preferably by tomorrow so that "Greg" can read it before we turn them in Thursday. He has this thing about us not calling him "Dr. Salyer." Weird.

And when I get back to school tomorrow, I have to put my portfolio together for art class..... Fun. And finish the current assignment and do the final project due next Wednesday. God, I hate that class. I can't wait for it to be over.

The digital art stuff is coming along well, though, so I don't need to worry about that; and Brannon and I gave our LAS presentation already, and I gave my speech for Rhetoric... So that's almost everything. ^_^ My roommates and some girls down the hall are having a Christmas party tomorrow night, so I need to get my present for my secret Santa person. Eek. I have no idea what to buy.... I'm sure it'll come to me. And now for my research paper!

So much for a productive weekend. I didn't get out of bed until past 11, then went out to get some lunch and home to do laundry, and I didn't get back till around five. And then I spent half an hour reviewing Amanda's research paper, and I'm going to the mall later with Brannon and Robyn. And at 10, there's a Monty Python movie marathon in the lobby. So. Do work -- watch Monty Python. Which one do you think will win out? ^_^
