I'm sorry, I just have to make fun of this. ^_^ As if telling your spouse you want a divorce through a cell phone text message isn't bad (translated = funny) enough, it was actually legally binding?!

Islamic Sharia law stipulates a man can divorce his wife by either speaking or writing the words "I divorce you" three times, if certain conditions are met. If he utters the sentence only twice, he can alter his decision within three months.

But of course, women can't do that. :Þ How screwed up is this country?

Well. I'm very pleased with this layout; it's a different style for me. ^_^ But making it made me remember why I switched to frames in the first place. Even using nested tables, it was irritating to set up. But it's over and done, and I like it. ^_^

I had to get three fillings from the dentist today. I hadn't ever needed them before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it wasn't bad at all. The whole thing, including waiting time, was only about 25 minutes. And it didn't hurt. That's always a plus. ^_^ The shots of novacaine weren't even that bad. I'd rather they use those than just swab your gums like they did when I was little. That never worked on me, and so everytime I needed something done, it hurt like hell. Ugh. At least the shots actually work.

After that, I stopped by the school to drop off a French reader I found in my bookcase for my French teacher. Since I didn't take his exam, I never even realized I still had it. Whoops.. But I wrote him a nice note in French and taped it onto the cover, so he'll forgive me. ^_^ Then I stopped at Michael's to buy picture frames for my Audrey photos. They're the same style, only one is pewter and the other two are gold-plated, so I put the color photo in the pewter frame, and the two black-and-whites in the gold ones. It's very pretty. ^_^

And finally, dad and I stopped at the pet shop and got a new fish for the tank. Our fish never last long. But this one's big; it's a type of clownfish, which are orange with white stripes. Very pretty, especially the big ones. ^_^

So. Busy day. Maybe I can finally sleep in tomorrow...

Ellie asked me earlier how long I'd been blogging, and I didn't know, since I don't keep up with my archives. But I was thinking about it all day, so I finally checked my archives.. And I made it through a whole year! I'm so proud of myself. ^_^ When I try to write on paper, I never last more than a week. My anniversary was on June 5, and I didn't even realize it. Wow.

For those of you who are getting tired of the current layout (this may be a record for me, by the way), I've been working on a new one. It's pretty and purple, and I really like it. So maybe I'll get that up soon. And then I think I'll add in the archive links. Just for the hell of it.

Ellie and I saw An Ideal Husband at ASF this afternoon. It wasn't at all what I expected, and I really liked it. I hadn't seen the movie or anything, so I really had no idea what it was about... But they were using a lot of my favorite actors, so it was pretty much guaranteed to be good. ^_^

I stayed up until 6 AM this morning, and then got up at 12. I'm a little tired. But not much. ^_^

Charlie came home for the weekend. No kitty, though. :Þ I miss kitty. Even if he does tear the toilet-paper roll to shreds when he's bored...

And in today's things that are pissing me off news, there's something wrong with my computer. I don't know what it is, but all my music sounds just horrible. Like every song is horrible quality or something, only I know they're fine, 'cause it only started last week. Maybe it's the speakers.. But I don't think so, since it sounds the same through my headphones. So the only other thing I can think of is the sound card. Can sound cards go bad? I guess pretty much anything in a computer can. *sigh* Now I have to ask dad, the tech-support guru. He can figure just about anything out, but.. Ugh! He wants to explain what he's doing while he's doing it. That can take awhile, you know. Oh well. It'd be worth it.

Ha! I got my very first paycheck today. $429. ^_^ Whoo-hoo!

In other news, the first three 8x10's of Audrey have come in. They're so gorgeous! I'm going to use them all to decorate my dorm room. ^_^ Heehee... I can just see all the weird looks my roommate will give me... But who cares! It's Audrey. ^_^

While I was in Tuscaloosa, Charlie took me to see the ruins of the old capital building. They've turned it into a little park-type thing. It was so beautiful! He had a disposable camera in his car, so I finished off the roll there. ^_^ I need to ask him if he's developed it yet...

In things that are pissing me off news, that jackass is still giving Di grief over that stupid tagboard. Now he's attacking her for making a layout for her best friend's birthday. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with giving your friend a layout for her website? I do it all the damn time. I swear this guy is seriously deranged.

And, of course, HiSpeed still hasn't restored my files. I think I'll go ahead and re-upload my homepage, but there's no way in hell I can get all my music and video files back up by myself. And if they don't do it, I foresee switching hosts when my contract runs out. This is the second screw-up in so many weeks, and while their tech support is friendly enough, I'm sick of needing to call them. Ugh.

Well. I'm not a happy camper. The server that hosts my domain went down, and all of my files are gone. Totally. Whoosh. I put up temporary index files last night and re-uploaded my blog files, but other than that, nothing. I opened a "trouble-ticket" through email last night, and still haven't gotten a response. Except for the automated confirmation which is supposed to arrive in 10 minutes; mine took over two hours. So, finally I called tech support, and that's where I got the little information I now have. He said they were trying to restore it, but they want people to re-upload their own sites if they can, ostensibly "to keep things updated." Well, screw that! I update my freaking websites all the freaking time! So. He took down my name and phone number and added it to the list of people who need their files restored. And I swear to God, if I don't get them back, I'll be so pissed off. It would take me days of staight uploading to get that stuff back up, and frankly I don't have the time or the patience for it. Ugh! Die, crappy servers!

I'm really making progress on my dad's website. I kinda like it so far, even if it is all about selling machinery and stuff. ^_^ But working on it has made me think again about setting up a little separate place for designing. In case anyone wants me to do a site for them, it'll be easier for them to find me. Anyway. Just a thought. ^_^

I have a busy weekend coming. Tomorrow, I'm driving to Tuscaloosa (first road trip! scary!), and staying the night with my brother. And Friday, the two of us are driving to Greenville, SC to see our Uncle and some of our cousins. Our Aunt and her kids will be there, too. We're only staying a day or two, though, 'cause Charlie has to get back to work. Mom and Dad aren't going until Saturday sometime, I think.. And I think they're staying longer. I'm sort of confused about the whole thing myself.

I drove up to the bookstore this morning for no real reason, and ended up buying a copy of Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's. I'd forgotten there was a book, and I'm curious to see if it's anything like the movie. Which I adore, of course. ^_^ Since I turned 18, I've gone E-Bay happy. I've bought at least 5-6 photos of Audrey. I think I'll decorate my dorm room with them. ^_^ I swear, if she was still alive, I might be considered a stalker...

*cough* Anyway. I could swear there was a point to this post, but I'm pretty sure it's lost by now.. But I don't care, 'cause I get to see KITTY this weekend! ^_^ Buh-bye!

I saw Moulin Rouge tonight. I must say that it's probably one of the best I've ever seen. As a rule, I can't stand movies with sad endings. But in this case, it was different. The death didn't take me by surprise this time, since the movie makes pretty damn sure you know it will happen, just within the first five minutes of the movie. So without the suspense, it was much easier to enjoy.

On another note, Charlie made me switch cars with him tonight. I couldn't quite fathom his reasoning, but he's going out of town tomorrow, and I think he figured I'd use less gas than he would tonight.. Which is probably true, since I think my car had more than a quarter of a tank, and it's gone now. In any case, he'll be gone tomorrow morning, and my world will return to normal. ^_^

Instead of working at Sommer's Place (a restaurant) like I had planned, I'm now working for my dad. On the same project he brought up about.. I don't know, four years ago? Only now, he's actually giving me the info I need to do the job. Which is build a website for the company. Fortunately, he doesn't want an online catalog right now. If he did, I'd probably kill myself before the summer is through. On the bright side, I'll have made about $1200 by the time I start school, so.... ^_^
